Salary Range
$66,000.00 - $101,325.00
Overview This position will provide nursing and medical support for research subjects undergoing MRI and/or PET studies and will participate in the acquisition of brain imaging for a multitude of studies including stress, drug abuse, immunity and neurodegenerative disorders. This position is clinically orientated and will perform tasks such as starting IV lines, monitoring arterial lines and vitals, drawing blood and obtaining EKGs along with administering study medications. The nurse will act as the clinical liaison between the study participant, medical coverage and PI. Required Skills and Abilities 1. Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated interpersonal skill; ability to perform in a complex team environment. 2. Ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of Yale Internal and external contacts, including those from governmental and industrial entities.

This role is a healthcare worker position. Healthcare workers (HCW) are defined as university employees working a healthcare setting who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients, human research subjects or infectious materials including body substance, contaminated medical supplies, devices and equipment, surfaces, or air. HCW have specific health requirements that must be met prior to starting work, including MMR vaccine or immunity, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine or immunity, TB screening, COVID vaccine according to University policy, hepatitis B vaccine or immunity, and annual flu vaccination.

Principal Responsibilities
- Performs physical assessments of patients, including triage duties and advises on treatment or course of action by having knowledge of nursing care standards and principles. 2. Develops, implements, and manages nursing care plans in collaboration with physicians. 3. Interviews patients and records medical history to establish data for treatment plan. 4. Plans and coordinates the admission and discharge of all patients. 5. Instructs patients and families in proper treatment and advises patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. 6. Performs patient care procedures by following appropriate policy and procedure. 7. Records patients’ medical histories and symptoms, operates medical machinery, administers treatment and medications, and coordinates patient follow-up and rehabilitation; assures all procedures for maintaining patient confidentiality are maintained per HIPAA guidelines. 8. Identifies education needed to assure competent delivery of patient care for oneself and others in the department. 9. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Graduation from accredited school of nursing.
